Like all of our services, our longer English courses have been developed through years of hands-on teaching experience in Slovenia, and in addition to being led by native English speaking instructors, they also employ a variety of innovative teaching methods that have proven both effective and enjoyable for learners. Conversation

Our conversation courses are perfect for those who would like to refresh their general English knowledge and expand their vocabulary. Topics will be chosen based on the interests of the participants in course. While grammar revision will not be a primary focus, explanations will be given as necessary throughout the course and special emphasis will be put on mistakes commonly made by Slovene learners.

Business English I

Our introductory Business English course has been adapted from the curriculum taught by our instructors at some of Slovenia’s leading business schools and companies over the past eight years. The material is largely vocabulary-based, with business basics and topics such as company establishment and structure, human resources, finance and investing all emphasised. Additional focus is given to units on presentations and professional correspondence in English, while common mistakes for Slovene learners will also be dealt with in detail throughout the course.

Business ENglish II

For those who have already completed our Business English I course or have mastered the basics of business communication and terminology on their own, Business English II is aimed at advanced learners who would like to further refine their English language skills for work. The course content will be divided between tasked aims at improving presentation and writing skills, as well as knowledge of more complex grammar forms, and discussions of contemporary business topics of interest to the participants.

Legal English

Slovenia has more legal professionals per capita than almost anywhere else in the world, and with an ever-increasing number of foreigners residing in the country, there’s also a growing need for English language legal advice. Our legal English course covers all the major topics in the field, including an overview of legal systems and structures, EU law, civil and criminal procedures, corporate law and contracts, with special emphasis also given to dealing with clients, explaining and clarifying issues, writing formal correspondence and negotiating.

For those who would like further practice dealing with situations specific to their area of legal expertise (such as company establishment, litigation, bankruptcy, etc), individual lessons with one of our experienced legal English instructors may offer a faster and more efficient way to achieving your goals. What's more, legal English has been one of our main focuses over the past 12 years of teaching, with regular courses at the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court, Ministry of Justice, Special Prosecutors Office, Judicial Training Centre, the legal departments at several large companies and various private lawyers and law firms (see partial list here).

Exam Preparation

While the vast majority of people don’t like taking exams, they are often a necessary task to be completed in order to achieve your wider goals, such as graduating from secondary school (matura), enrolling in a foreign university (FCE, CAE, IELTS, TOIEC) or advancing within your chosen profession (BEC, ILEC, ELPAC). Luckily our instructors have extensive experience preparing learners for all of these exams and more, and can share their proven tips and tricks for how to best prepare yourself.

Note: Due to our small class sizes and high demand, booking your place for our matura preparation courses in Spring 2015 well in advance is highly recommended.

Individual Lessons

Aside from full immersion (eg travelling to London for a months and only hearing, speaking and reading English), the fastest and most efficient way to improve your English is with individual lessons. Not only do they offer personalised instruction, uninterrupted attention during sessions and more opportunity to speak and ask questions, but they also offer more flexibility in terms of scheduling, pace and content.

Hourly rates depend on the content of the courses, with specialised subjects and material generally charged at a slightly higher rate than simple conversation courses, and it’s also possible to arrange lessons for groups of two or three participants upon request. For the ultimate flexibility and value, you can even pre-pay for a set number of hours that can be used any time for up to one year or more.

INDIVIDUAL LESSONS (Skype)

Skype lessons offer all of the specialised instruction of our regular individual courses, with the added convenience of not having to leave your home or office. And since is also money for us, we are happy to pass the extra savings on to you, with much lower hourly rates than our in-person sessions.
